5 Tips to Get Paid Faster
Hello, I’m Jeanine Hall, Founder of Quant Solutions, and today I’m going to give you 5 tips on how to get paid faster.
Number 1. We’re going to set clear expectations whenever enter a new contract. This is as simple as having a paragraph on payment terms where we articulate whether we want monthly recurring, progress payments, or milestone payments. Whatever works between you and your new client. Just make sure you agree to it upfront.
Number 2, now I know this might go without saying, but follow through with what you agreed to on step number one. It’s as simple as that.
Number 3. When you do send your email to follow through with the payment terms you agreed to in step number one, make sure you include a line that asks for the receiver to kindly acknowledge receipt of your invoice. This allows you to open up a dialogue in case that you need to follow up with payment later,
which brings us to step number four. We’re going to send reminders, so if somebody hasn’t acknowledged The receipt of your invoice. Follow up with a reminder. It’s as simple as:
Hey, Chrissy, just curious if you saw my email from a week ago, let me know if you have any questions at all. Thank you.
Finally, if the due date has passed and you don’t, it’s still waiting on payment, just pick up the phone and call. This allows you to have a direct conversation and set expectations about when you can receive your payment shortly.
